Monroe WA August 5, 2001 HPR Launch
Paul B., Randall C., Len B. & son attended the HPR launch held the first Sunday
of every month. I launched
my PML Endeavour on an Aerotech I154J reload, this was my first
Aerotech reload, silicone
grease and all. The reload package was labeled short but the delay
didn't act like a short, more
like a medium or longer, as the rocket did a upside down "U" then
deployed. It landed on the
edge of the swamp, lucky for me some guy had rubber boots and got
my rocket from the swamp. QT
dries off real fast, as everything was soaked, the lower part of
the rocket was half in the
water laying on it's side. Randall launched his 'Crazy Canuck' on one
of those new 'Redline'
motors, a J570R, the wind sent lots of the rockets over the car line. Then I
launched my scratch mini
Endeavour on an Aerotech E15-7, due my not so perfect repair, it cork-
screwed straight up, leaving
a nice twisting smoke trail. Then Randall launched his LOC Norad
on an Aerotech redline H.
Compared to Pro38, Aerotech delays are not that accurate. I find the
Monroe people are very
organized, especially how they write down in a log book what rack you
are on, so you can come back
later when your rack is up. It is kind of hard to take lots of pictures
if you are busy prepping your
rockets.
